No Kings 2.0

In June, we did what many said was impossible.  Thousands came out in West Chester and with one voice we said America has NO KINGS. The world saw the power of the people and a massive rejection of authoritarian rule.

Now, the fight continues this Saturday.  This is a peaceful national day of action standing up to deepening corruption and abuse of power; from targeting immigrant families and slashing essential services to silencing voters and rewarding billionaire allies.

It’s time to rise again together this Saturday.

**RSVPs are NOT required but they do help us plan**

We don’t expect High Street to be closed for this event, so we’ve added a few creative ways to make sure everyone can participate, whether you’re standing in solidarity, cheering, or joining from your car!

OUR COMMITMENT TO NONVIOLENCE

A core principle behind all Indivisible Chester County events is a commitment to nonviolent action and no civil disobedience.

We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values, and to act lawfully at these events.

Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we have permits for this event?

YES, we secure permits for these events before making them public.

What about the sound system?
We’re so grateful to Taylor’s Music for providing sound on the main stage. We do our best with the resources we have and for this event we’ve taken extra steps to make sure everyone can be part of the experience including those who may not be able to hear the speakers clearly from the main stage.

What about safety?
For all of our large events, we work closely with the Chester County Sheriff’s Department, the West Chester Police Department, and the County Department of Emergency Services. We’re confident in their commitment to keeping everyone safe and supporting our right to gather peacefully.

Who pays for these events?
These events have no corporate sponsors. They’re made possible entirely through the generous support of our community members.

Where do I park?
See map below for parking garages around the borough. The closest one is the Bicentennial Garage on High Street. Lots tend to fill up on event days so get there early if you can.

LET’S MAKE OUR VOICES LOUDER

Social media is our megaphone! Head to our ICC photo gallery to find your picture from the last event, or snap a new one with your sign for Saturday.

Share it with your friends on social media and email it to NKPhotosPA@gmail.com to be featured in the statewide No Kings video!

A huge shoutout to Tom at One More Shot Photography for all of his amazing work to capture our events!!

COSTUMES

Costumes are absolutely welcome! We’re excited to see the creativity Chester County brings whether it’s a crown, a cape, or something totally unexpected.

To make sure everyone can see and enjoy the speakers, we’re asking folks with inflatable or extra-large costumes to gather on the opposite side of the  High Street.

This will help keep things comfortable and give everyone plenty of room to participate.

ROAD CLOSURE

No road closures? No problem!

We don’t expect any streets to be closed for this event. That just means we get to get a little creative.

If crowds aren’t your thing, here’s your moment to shine!

Decorate your car like a mini parade float and cruise along High Street during the rally. Wave, honk, and show your support.   Help bring the celebration to the whole community!

COMMUNITY GIVE: PROJECT LIBERTAD

At every event, we take a moment to lift up a local partner doing powerful work right here at home. For this event, we’re proud to highlight Project Libertad, an organization dedicated to supporting and empowering immigrant youth and families in our community.

Project Libertad was founded in 2015 to empower immigrant youth and their families. What began as a local response to unmet needs has grown into a leading organization providing vital legal and social services to hundreds across the community. Project Libertad continues to expand its reach and impact, helping immigrant youth thrive. LEARN MORE.

MAKE A DONATION

CHESCO CARES: CHESTER COUNTY FOOD BANK

Recent cuts across the board are leaving many of our Chester County neighbors wondering how to make ends meet.

Our mutual aid team, ChesCo Cares, will be collecting nonperishable food donations for the Chester County Food Bank during the event.

If you’re able, please consider bringing a donation and dropping it off at the membership table at the corner of High and Market Streets. Every contribution helps a neighbor in need.

Donations can also be dropped off anytime at the libraries in  Exton, Kennett Square, Paoli, Tredyffrin, & West Chester.

THANK A VOLUNTEER

No matter where you are on Saturday, these events are only possible because of generous, dedicated volunteers.

Please thank them when you see them- their time and energy make this work possible.
