THIS WEEK’S FOCUS: Equality

This week’s protests are centered on equality. Equality for all. This means racial justice, equal treatment under the law and equal treatment under the tax code.

It means we call hate by its name. We stand up for what is right and demand the same from our representative in Congress. His office tweets weak response through twitter called ICYMI?!?

Love, not hate, makes America great. No money for a wall of hate. No silence from our alleged leaders. White terrorism is real. It is equal to the terrorism the alleged President recognizes. Where is the voice of District 6?? Why is he silent? We will not be silent. We all do better when we ALL do better. (Credit to Paul Wellstone via Al Franken)

Heather Heyer was murder on the streets of Charlottesville, protesting for equality. She stood for what is good in this country. We wish to honor her. To quote her mother, “I want her death to be a rallying cry for justice and equality and fairness and compassion”.

Look for us at the corner of Market and High. We will protest outside as a large group; then rotate into the office in small groups to speak with staff and deliver letters, if permitted.

If you cannot attend, email your letter to us at contact@ccag-d6.com and we will hand deliver it for you.

*We would like to remind all participants to be calm and polite with staff members. That being said, these encounters are a two way street. If you personally experience issues with the staff (feeling intimidated or belittled) report to Claire at the event or contact us at: contact@ccag-d6.com

We meet each Friday from 11:30am to 1pm in front of Rep. Costello’s office. Click here for more information.
