THIS WEEKS TOPIC: No Hate. No Wall. America is Already Great.

This week members of Congress return to Washington DC and take up the budget and the debt ceiling. POTUS has threatened to shut down the U.S. Government if congress does not fund his Wall of Hate… a Wall he told Mexico President Peña Nieto:“…Believe it or not, this is the least important thing that we are talking about, but politically this might be the most important talk about.”Mexico is one of our greatest allies.

The wall is one of several insults to our ally. Donald Trump says he wants to renegotiate or cancel NAFTA. He just pardoned Sheriff Arpaio who was convicted of criminal contempt for violating a federal injunction for his department’s illegal holding of (Latino) people without criminal cause.

Congress must not let the Bully-in-Chief use our tax dollars to make good on a worthless campaign promise to his base. The U.S. Treasury is not his campaign fund! A shut down of the U.S. Government will make us all less secure. It will harm our economy, harm federal employees, harm our standing in the world. This week we need our voices to be heard as we shout in unison:

NO FUNDING FOR THE WALL OF HATE!
NO GOVERNMENT SHUT DOWN!

Do your job Rep Costello and find a way to stop the insanity of spending our hard earned tax dollars on a campaign prop for POTUS.

SIGN IDEAS:
Build bridges (infrastructure), not walls
Not one penny for a wall of hate!
Don’t make us pay for a Wall of Hate
Shut down the wall

Look for us at the corner of Market and High. We will protest outside as a large group; then rotate into the office in small groups to speak with staff and deliver letters, if permitted.

If you cannot attend, email your letter to us at contact@ccag-d6.com and we will hand deliver it for you.

*We would like to remind all participants to be calm and polite with staff members. That being said, these encounters are a two way street. If you personally experience issues with the staff (feeling intimidated or belittled) report to Claire at the event or contact us at: contact@ccag-d6.com

We meet each Friday from 11:30am to 1pm in front of Rep. Costello’s office. Click here for more information.
