THIS WEEK’S FOCUS: Protect the Poor Against Tax Breaks for the Rich
We are repeating this protest as we believe it is important to protect the weakest among us.
The disabled, the elderly and the working poor will all be devastated by the Trump budget and GOP health care. Anyone who does not have a paid lobbyist is under attack. The GOP hopes to give enormous tax breaks to the economic top 1%.
Pushing Medicaid onto the states will bankrupt many of them. The Trump budget relies on failed policies, a $2 Trillion math error and an imaginary growth rate we cannot accomplish to make it appear normal.
Our Congressman needs to find a spine and say NO. No, you will not cut care for the elderly. You will not cap coverage for the disabled. You will not steal from our safety nets to give to the rich. Did you know they want to cut 25% from feeding the poor?
Our Congress needs to stand up for the 99% of Americans who might someday need our safety nets. All of us are the 99%. We must hold our current government to account for stealing from the 99% to give to the wealthy.

Look for us at the corner of Market and High. We will protest outside as a large group; then rotate into the office in small groups to speak with staff and deliver letters, if permitted.
