THIS WEEK’S FOCUS: Just Say NO to the Senate’s Better Care Reconciliation Act

“After much secrecy from the Senate, the Better Care Reconciliation Act has debuted. This gutter ball bill does nothing to make health care better, and does everything to make it more costly for those who can least afford our expensive health care system. By decimating Medicaid funding, tying tax subsidies to substandard plans, and repealing cost sharing subsidies, the poor will effectively be priced out of access to health care. This is supposedly all in the name of providing tax cuts to those who need it the least. We need to demand better from our government employees”. Carolyn McClanahan, Forbes

This bill is a tax cut for the rich on the backs of the poor and disabled. Those who will be most harshly affected are those who can least afford to go without healthcare – the disabled, the working poor and the elderly.

We are aware that this bill may go to vote before our protest, however, this is too important to remain silent.

Look for us at the corner of Market and High. We will protest outside as a large group; then rotate into the office in small groups to speak with staff and deliver letters, if permitted.

If you cannot attend, email your letter to us at contact@ccag-d6.com and we will hand deliver it for you.

*We would like to remind all participants to be calm and polite with staff members. That being said, these encounters are a two way street. If you personally experience issues with the staff (feeling intimidated or belittled) report to Claire at the event or contact us at: contact@ccag-d6.com
