THIS WEEK’S FOCUS: Protect our Internet Data and Access

Rep. Costello had a lengthy and complicated reason for rescinding the FCC Privacy Protection Rules implemented in October. In the statement he said he supported work to make sure the FTC can protect us similarly.

He needs to protect the American people by implementing legislation to align ISP privacy rules with the FTC framework so as to craft a harmonized regulatory structure that works to ensure consumers’ best interests are protected. The FTC must require all uses of consumer data to receive explicit opt-in consent.

He should know that our data can be used to harm us. His vote removed FCC protection and now the new FCC head is moving to further remove protections by eliminating Net Neutrality.

SIGN IDEAS:
“Protect our data, protect our access.”
“My surfing is nun’ya”
“Don’t sell my privacy!”
“Whose interests matter? Your donors or your constituents?”

Look for us at the corner of Market and High. We will protest outside as a large group; then rotate into the office in small groups to speak with staff and deliver letters, if permitted.
