Why Fair Districts? A look at the detrimental effects of Gerrymandering in our state and the benefits to ALL of reforming the current redistricting process. An independent citizens commission, as recommended by the non-partisan group Fair Districts PA, would enable democracy and civil discourse to be revived in our legislature once again. Citizens would get a renewed sense that their vote really does matter and feelings of voter frustration would dissipate. And, ALL parties, Republican, Democratic, Libertarian, Independent, etc., ALL would have an incentive to compromise and stop the bitter partisanship that so deeply divides our state and our nation at this time.
FDPA-East Marlborough is hosting an event to educate the public about the benefits of a citizens commission to perform the task of redistricting after the 2020 census.
