Join us on November 18th to stand up to climate disaster. During this interactive, inspiring, and family-friendly event, we’ll record in a time capsule what Pennsylvanians love and are fighting to protect from climate change. We’ll celebrate the people and places at risk from rising seas, and memorialize Governor Wolf’s response to the crisis.

In short, we, the people know how we’ll be remembered: as fierce defenders of the home we cherish. What’s far less clear, however, is the legacy left by Tom Wolf and governors across the country. Today, we asked Wolf to join us in protecting our home against superstorms like Sandy fueled by Wall Street and fossil fuel executives. On November 18th, we’ll seal the governor’s response in our time capsule. May the future be the judge if his response is enough.

And — YOU are invited to contribute to the time capsule. Bring…
-An object (small enough to fit in your palm) representing what you love and want to protect in the face of climate change
-A letter to the future

BACKGROUND on the Climate Legacy Time Capsule Project:
World leaders are gathering in early November to decide what happens next with the Paris Climate Agreement. The United States will be represented by former Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson, who will be doing everything in his power to enrich his fellow oil executives. We, the people of Pennsylvania, need to get together and send a message that our state will lead, even while our federal government threatens to pull our country backwards.

Sunrise Philadelphia, Lancaster and Swarthmore have come together to ask Governor Wolf to join us by committing to uphold the Paris Climate Agreement. He has until November 18th to decide how the future will judge him.
