“Wall of Stories” is a creative visual action by Philly UP to bring light to the millions of stories of Pennsylvanians whose health and healthcare coverage are risked under a repeal of the Affordable Care Act, and/or the replacements that have been proposed by the GOP.

We were horrified by the Trump administration’s suggestion that funds that currently go to healthcare – funds that keep us alive and well – should be used to build his hateful wall. So we came together with a mission – to build a wall of our own.

We will be building multiple “walls” by wheat pasting single 8.5×11 sheets of paper, which have been printed to resemble bricks, in select locations throughout Philadelphia (and hopefully across Pennsylvania!) If they want to strip funding from our healthcare and suggest building this wall on our bodies – we will illustrate to them the volume of folks they will be affecting. We’re creating a wall of our stories!

Come join us in person!! Write out your story, draw your experience, or simply add your name to what will become our wall. We will be in Rittenhouse park from 6-8 with paper “bricks,” sharpies, and a camera! We like food, so we’ll probably have some snacks, and kids are very welcome!

We will also have postcards avaiable, so if you have a chance to do a “drop off” at our Senator Toomey’s office – you can grab a postcard and tell him how you’re feeling!

If you are not able to make it, you can submit digitally as well!! It can be in any form you choose – as long as it’s short (3-4 sentences max, as short as a single word). Written stories can be submitted here: http://tinyurl.com/wallofstoriesPHL
Visual representations (handwritten, drawings, pictures, etc) can be emailed to wallofstoriesPHL@gmail.com
